Hi, my name is Matt Miller, Owner/Operator of this here Grounded Automotive. My family and I live in Longview, WA. We have lived here and the surrounding areas all of our lives.
It took me a while to figure out that I wanted to be an automotive technician. I have always been a fixer. I will take apart anything and everything that no longer functions properly in order to find and fix the problem. I had always enjoyed fixing my own vehicles and power tools. I feel lucky to have found something that I enjoy.
But this is a bit more than just an enjoyable job. I get the chance to help folks by, in many cases, saving them money and time. Unfortunately, some (not all) shops out there will read a code with the scan-tool, look at the most common failures for that code, then start changing parts until the problem is fixed. This can cost their customers a lot of unnecessary expenses in parts that were not the problem. This is how I feel that I can contribute. By doing my best to ensure that you don’t pay for parts or labor that aren’t necessary.
I believe this is because of a lack of professional training and tooling. A properly trained technician with the right tooling can use testing techniques to find the failed component as well as the source of the problem. In many cases that approach saves customers loads of time and hard earned dollars.
I know this isn’t nearly as helpful as you nurses, teachers, fire folk, police folk, or so many others that make a difference in our community, but it’s what I know how to do.
